Putting together a law school application has distinct components. We will discuss these components in detail to help you navigate the application process and hopefully complete an application that is both strong and competitive.

Our Presenters:
Jacqueline B. Bell, Associate Dean of Admission and Financial Aid, Charleston School of Law: Jacqueline B. Bell, Associate Dean of Admission and Financial Aid, has more than 34 years experience in higher education. She is a graduate of the University of South Carolina at Coastal Carolina with a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies with a concentration in Business.
Prior to joining the Charleston School of Law, Ms. Bell was an Account Executive with Sallie Mae representing USA Funds in the states of North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. She is well known in the financial aid community throughout the Southeast. Also, Ms. Bell has held several elected positions and maintained active leadership and involvement in financial aid associations in the Southeast.
Darren Kettles, Director of Admissions, Stetson University College of Law: Darren Kettles is the Director of Admissions at Stetson University College of Law in Tampa Bay, Florida, where he has worked for over 14 years. Mr. Kettles earned his BA in communications and has an MA in Liberal Studies and English from Rollins College, and completed his Collegiate Enrollment Management Training from the University of Southern California’s Rossier School of Education. Mr. Kettles currently serves as a board member on the Southern Association of Pre-Law Advisors (SAPLA) as a Law School Representative. Mr. Kettles has been a frequent presenter at LSAC’s Newcomers Conferences as well as serving on the New Admissions Personnel and Faculty Members Workshop Planning Work Group. He has co-paneled numerous workshops at LSAC forums, presented at Phi Alpha Delta’s National Conferences, Regional Pre-Law Advisors conferences, and the American Association of Law Schools (AALS). Currently, Darren serves as a member of LSAC’s Misconduct and Irregularities in the Admissions Process Subcommittee.
Before joining the profession of law school admissions, Mr. Kettles worked in undergraduate admissions and financial aid at both Rollins College and Full Sail University and taught in the Florida Public School System at the Orlando Coalition for the Homeless serving the basic education needs of homeless adults. Prior, he worked as an Outreach Education Coordinator for Covenant House Florida, an agency for runaway and homeless teens, where he shared the perils of teens making unsustainable choices.
