
Veteran's Day Panel

Join P.A.D. Alumni Members in a roundtable discussion about their involvement in Veterans and Military Law.
The conversation with be moderated by Nicole Winget, International Marshal. The panel will discuss the journey to their career paths, connections to the military community, and offer advice for members looking at new and exciting possible career.

Nicole Winget (Willis Chapter, Triangle Area Alumni Chapter): International Marshal Nicole Winget is from the Willis and Triangle Area Alumni Chapters and lives in Fayetteville, NC. Nicole is a prior criminal defense attorney. She is currently a college professor at Campbell University and a Lieutenant Commander assigned to the Office of Naval Intelligence.
- Kaylin M. Pelletier-Koenig, Esq. (Madison Chapter): Kaylin serves as a Staff Attorney for Operation Stand Down Rhode Island.

Jenny J. Tang (Sanford Chapter): Jenny serves as Senior Appellate Litigation Attorney at Bergmann & Moore LLC. She represents veterans and their families before the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims (CAVC). She received her B.A. from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville and her J.D. from the University of Tennessee College of Law. She is the proud daughter, sister, and granddaughter in-law of Army, Navy, and Air Force veterans/ servicemen.

Holly L. Christian, Esq. (Story Chapter): Holly is the Pro Bono Manager and Staff Attorney at Swords to Plowshares, a veteran service organization providing training, counseling, support, and legal services to homeless, low-income and at-risk veterans in the San Francisco, CA/Bay Area. She received her B.A. from the University of Dayton and her J.D. from DePaul University College of Law with a certificate in Public Interest Law.

Samantha Sliney (Watkins Chapter, Triangle Area Alumni Chapter): Major Samantha Arrington Sliney is a JAG (Judge Advocate General) in the United States Air Force. She received her B.A. from Methodist University, her J.D. from North Carolina Central University School of Law, and her LL.M. in Homeland and National Security Law from the Western Michigan University Cooley Law School. As a JAG, she has served as a federal prosecutor, in-house counsel, and currently as a defense counsel. Major Sliney is married to an active duty Army solider and has two children.

Kristin Sample (Lincoln Chapter):
Kristen received her B.A. from University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and J.D. from John Marshall Law School (now UIC-John Marshall Law School). After graduation, Kristen followed her husband's military career to New Mexico; they currently
reside in Florida. Kristen has served as a Public Defender in both New Mexico and Florida where she worked with the indigent populations in both Clovis, NM and Pensacola, FL. In addition, Kristen was part of the Galloway Law Firm where
she practiced Hurricane Insurance Defense. Kristen is also actively involved in the Military Spouse J.D. Network, which works to assist military spouses in finding legal employment and advance licensing efforts for military spouses
across the country.
