Kathleen (Kitty) Maloney graduated from California State University, Long Beach with a B.A. in 1992, she earned a M.B.A. from the University of LaVerne in 1994, and in 1999 she earned her Juris Doctor Degree from Hofstra University School of Law. 

While at Hofstra, Kitty joined the John F. Kennedy Chapter of P.A.D. in 1996. During her second year of law school, she served as Kennedy Chapter Justice, during which time the chapter saw a great re-growth in programming and new members (147). At the 1998 Convention in Scottsdale, Arizona, Kennedy Chapter received first place in the Stanley H. Kohn Outstanding Law School Chapter Competition and Kitty received the Alex Hotchkiss Outstanding Law School Chapter Justice award. During her third year of law school, Kitty served as Assistant District XX Justice. At the time, District XX encompassed the geographic region that is now divided into District XX and District XXIX.

In 1999, Kitty relocated to the Washington, DC area where she served as District XXIII Justice (1999–2001). After stepping down as District XXIII Justice due to job demands, she looked for a way to remain active in P.A.D. and was soon involved in the National Capital Area Alumni Chapter (Now the National Capital Area Robert Redding Alumni Chapter). She served as Justice of the National Capital Area Alumni Chapter from 2002–2004.

In 2004 at the 55th Biennial Convention, she was elected to the position of Associate Tribune on the International Tribunal and at the 56th Biennial Convention in 2006, she was elected Chief Tribune. Kitty was re-elected Chief Tribune at the 57th Biennial Convention in 2008.

In 2010, at the 58th Biennial, Convention Kitty was elected to the International Executive Board as one of the four International Board Members at Large. During this time, Kitty worked on the strategic planning sub-committee with International Justice Rhonda Hill and International Executive Board Member at Large Jay Ross. At the 59th Biennial Convention in 2012, Kitty was elected to the position of International Secretary. At the 60th Biennial Convention in 2014, Kitty was elected to the position of International Vice-Justice. At the 61st Biennial Convention in 2016, she was elected to the position of International Justice, only the third woman in fraternity history to serve in this role. As International Justice she presided over 62nd Biennial Convention in Lexington, Kentucky. Currently Kitty supports the Fraternity by serving on various committees, special projects, and mentoring members. 

Currently, Kitty is a Senior Service Delivery Manager with Deloitte Transactions and Business Analytics LLP in the Business Risk, Information Governance and eDiscovery market offering. She is a licensed attorney with over 20 years of managed review services and eDiscovery experience. Over the last five years, she has led an international team on a large cross border litigation project involving multiple complex workstreams. Prior to her work at Deloitte, Kitty held managerial roles in an AM 100 law firm and discovery support providers. Before attending law school Kitty worked for a jewelry manufacturer and Northrup Grumman.

She resides in Alexandria, Virginia.
