Dr. Brian Cahill
Associate Instructional Professor, University of Florida

Dr. Brian Cahill is an Associate Instructional Professor at the University of Florida with expertise in the ways in which Social and Cognitive Psychology interact to influence legal decision-making. Specifically, Dr. Cahill is an expert in Eyewitness Memory and Decision-Making. Dr. Cahill earned his Ph.D. in Legal Psychology from Florida International University, his Master of Arts Degree in Experimental Psychology from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, and his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Illinois State University. He has published empirical papers investigating eyewitness decision making, juror decision making, the ability to detect deception in Fake News Tasks, the measurement of various psychopathologies (particularly in prison inmates), and has given numerous talks at various national conferences on topics related to the application of psychology to the legal system. Professionally, Dr. Cahill routinely serves as an Expert Witness in Criminal cases regarding Eyewitness Memory and Decision Making and provides training to both Police Departments and Criminal Defense Attorneys.
