Chapter Activities and the Novel Coronavirus
Since we are sure there are many questions about this change and potential implications within your chapter, we’ve compiled a brief list of recommendations and advice below.
What do I do if my school closes?
As this is a developing situation, please work with us by sharing information relating to the status of your chapter and your school to firstname.lastname@example.org. We encourage all members to act according to guidance from public health agencies, your schools, and the most up-to-date information available.
We know these closures and cancellations will lead to changes for you and your members. Phi Alpha Delta’s goal is always to keep everyone safe and healthy. Regardless of your school’s status, your membership is still for life. We understand that this is an unusual situation and we are here to provide support however possible.
Should we continue hosting events and meetings?
Always follow school guidelines for cancelling or postponing in-person student organization activities.
Consider continuing chapter or Executive Board meetings using the following services: Google Hangouts; Skype; WebEx; FreeConferenceCall.com; Zoom; Slack; TWEN; or any school-sponsored student portal.
How do we hold elections?
Normally, chapters will hold elections during the spring semester. If you have already completed elections, great! If not, consider holding online elections through SurveyMonkey or your school’s online portal.

What if we have to reschedule initiation?
If you need to reschedule or postpone your initiation ceremony, email firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know ASAP.
Did you know you can conduct a virtual initiation by phone, social media, or streaming service such as Skype? Chapters are encouraged to continue to initiate members virtually in lieu of cancelling.
When will we receive new membership materials?
If your school has closed or moved to online activities, mailing of new member materials will be put on hold until your school re-opens. If you or your members have any questions about this or need to request direct shipment, please contact email@example.com.

What is the status on P.A.D. National Events?
This is a very challenging time for all of us. We are considering our options for Convention, P.A.D. Day, and all future events. We will continue to monitor the situation and inform you immediately if anything changes. The health and safety of our members is our utmost concern.
