Biography:
Elsie Guerrero is a proud first-generation Latina attorney dedicated to empowering the next generation—especially those whose voices are often overlooked. Her work centers on equity, education, special education, and juvenile justice.
She previously served as Legislative Counsel and Director for the U.S. House of Representatives, leading education and health policy initiatives, and as an adjunct professor at American University’s School of Public Affairs, where she taught Law and the Political System. A passionate advocate for children, Elsie is also a children’s book author with Promote Inclusion Books, having published over 20 books focused on disability awareness and social justice.
Elsie earned her Juris Doctor from the University of the District of Columbia School of Law and holds advanced degrees in public administration and public affairs. Her leadership and advocacy have earned her national recognition, including Latina Influence of the Year by Hispanic Lifestyle Magazine. She continues to champion justice, inclusion, and opportunity for young people everywhere.
