P.A.D. Announces Leadership Academy

We are excited to launch the Fraternity's newest program, the Phi Alpha Delta Leadership Academy. This leadership development program is designed to provide participants with the tools, training, and experience to become leaders at the International and District levels. The program will also equip members with leadership skills that can be used to serve students, schools, the legal profession, and their communities.

The Leadership Academy provides interested law student and alumni members with key education and resources on what to expect as an elected or appointed leader within P.A.D.
Application & Information
Academy Leaders will benefit from monthly webinars, online discussions, and group work  that will provide understanding on topics including:
  • the roles and responsibilities of a non-profit executive board 
  • the fundamentals of Parliamentary Procedure
  • the Fraternity’s organizational structure
  • the governing documents including the Fraternity By-Laws, Fraternity Policy Manual, IEB Policy Manual, and Foundation Policy Manual
  • the roles and responsibilities of each position on the International Executive Board (IEB) and the difference between the role of the IEB and the Executive Office
  • the roles and responsibilities of each position on the International Tribunal (IT)
  • the roles and responsibilities of the Phi Alpha Delta International Foundation Board of Trustees
  • the roles and responsibilities of District Justices, Assistant District Justices, advisory councils, and committees
  • the importance of understanding your leadership style
  • the fundamentals of strategic planning

Over the course of the 6 month program - beginning in April 2023 and ending in November 2023- participants can expect to devote four (4) to five (5) hours per month to include attending monthly virtual meetings, readings, viewing recordings and resource videos, and participating in discussion boards.

The application period is open through February 17, 2023 at 5:00 PM ET. Please note the inaugural class will be limited to no more than twelve (12) Academy Leaders.
