Phi Alpha Delta is saddened to report the unexpected passing of one of our P.A.D. law student members, Katherine “Kat” Westbrook of Haynesworth Chapter.
In honor of Kat, Haynesworth Chapter and the Charleston School of Law student body will be hosting a Legal Mixer Fundraiser to help fund a new Pride in the Law Scholarship. Kat was the SCOL president of the Alliance for Equality, and she wore her pride on her sleeve in a truly brave and inspiring way. The chapter is also petitioning to have the scholarship renamed in Kat’s memory.
The in-person portion of this event is scheduled for Thursday, 4/7/22 with the goal of raising enough money to allow the scholarship to exist in perpetuity.
The below link is available for event details and donation options, where any dollar amount may be entered without the purchase of a ticket.
If you have any questions about this event or fundraiser, please contact Caitlin Turner at CBTurner@charlestonlaw.edu. Please share this post with your P.A.D. networks. Thank you for your support of Haynesworth Chapter during this difficult time.
