Congratulations to the spring 2021 P.A.D. Society of Scholars Scholarship recipients! Elizabeth Cox (Sanford Chapter Vice Justice) Claire Gupta (University of Washington Pre-Law Chapter, soon to be Field Chapter) Nicholas Quatraro (University of Arizona Pre-Law Chapter) & a fourth recipient who chose to remain anonymous Thank you to Kaplan Test Prep for sponsoring these scholarships! Originally from Western North Carolina, Elizabeth Cox is a rising 2L at the University of Tennessee College of Law where she is the Vice Justice of P.A.D. Sanford Chapter. During her first year of law school she sharpened her advocacy skills as a member of Sanford Chapter’s mock trial team. This summer, Elizabeth is working for a Knoxville attorney that practices family law and criminal defense in counties all over East Tennessee. Elizabeth hopes to continue developing her advocacy skills so she can provide excellent representation to clients from all walks of life in rural Appalachia. In her free time, Elizabeth enjoys playing trivia at local breweries with her friends. Claire Gupta – University of Washington (moving on to Field Chapter)
Claire Gupta is a recent college honors graduate of the University of Washington with a B.A. in Law, Societies, and Justice and minors in Human Rights and Entrepreneurship. She was inspired to pursue law after becoming the first high school intern at Life After Innocence, a legal clinic of Loyola University Chicago School of Law that helped the exonerated start their lives again. In college, Claire started her first company when she was 21 years old, and she also completed a departmental honors thesis on the global expansion of LGBTIQ+ rights. This fall, Claire will be attending UC Berkeley School of Law for her J.D. where she hopes to continue to explore the ways that law, social justice, and entrepreneurship intersect. Nicholas S. Quatraro – University of Arizona
Nicholas is a junior at the University of Arizona majoring in Biomedical Engineering. Born and raised in Tucson, Nicholas dreams of attending law school and becoming a patent attorney who specializes in medical devices. When he's not studying or doing research, he loves playing guitar and spending time with his two cats.
