Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, International needs your ideas and creativity! Join the conversation and help P.A.D. become a stronger organization by volunteering for one of our Advisory Councils. These Councils advise on the development of programming, strategic planning, professional development, and leadership efforts of the Fraternity.

Pursuant to Article 8 of the Fraternity Policy Manual, the International Justice is required to form the following Advisory Councils within one hundred twenty (120) days of the adjournment of Convention. A brief summary of the role each Advisory Council is listed below. The International Justice will give each Advisory Council a formal charge once members are appointed.

Alumni Advisory Council (AAC):

  • Open To: P.A.D. Alumni Members
  • Goals: Brainstorm about honorary membership, alumni recruiting, and CLE program development

Law School Advisory Council (LSAC):

  • Open To: law student members and recent alumni
  • Goals: Develop online programming/officer training, chapter revitalization, chapter to chapter mentoring, and regional programing

Pre Law Advisory Council (PLAC):

  • Open To: Pre-Law Faculty Advisors and Pre-Law Students
  • Goals: Help structure online programming/officer training; brainstorm on open membership policy issues and increased competitions from other organizations

Additionally, the International Justice may create the following Advisory Council within one hundred twenty (120) days of the adjournment of Convention, the purpose of which is summarized below. If formed, the International Justice will also give these Advisory Councils a formal charge.

International Advisory Council (IAC):

  • Open To: All P.A.D. Members
  • Goals: Expand outreach by creating communications plans for international members and cultivating relationships/partnerships with other international legal organizations.

Distinguished Member Advisory Council (DMAC):

  • Open To: All P.A.D. Alumni Members
  • Goals: To research best practices for professional non-profit organizations, and develop a “Wish P.A.D. had this…” list

Each Council will meet quarterly, recruit additional members, form subcommittees, and report back to the International Executive Board (IEB) detailing their ideas and proposals.

Because the International Justice is still actively seeking leaders to chair and become members of these Councils, the International Executive Board has decided to extend the December 7, 2020 deadline set forth in Article 8 of the Fraternity Policy Manual for the mandatory AAC, LSAC, and PLAC, and will continue to accept volunteer applications for these Advisory Councils, as well as the IAC and the DMC, through December 31, 2020.

To apply, please visit www.PAD.org/volunteers or send an email with a copy of your resume and a statement of interest to padieb@pad.org. Please note that the International Justice plans to seek the advice and consent of the IEB to appoint members to these Councils at the 2021 Winter Board Meeting, which will be held virtually on January 16-17, 2021.

If you have any questions about these Councils, please email padieb@pad.org.
