To the membership of Phi Alpha Delta: On behalf of the entire International Executive Board (IEB), I would like to extend our gratitude to Brother Dan McDowell for his eight years of service on the IEB; his presence will be greatly missed. Upon receiving Brother McDowell’s resignation, the IEB met in an emergency executive session on October 23, 2020 to review the Fraternity By-Laws and discuss the best route to fill the vacant International Vice Justice (IVJ) position. In an effort to efficiently conduct the general session meeting on October 28, 2020, the IEB realized my comments regarding the process for filling the vacant officer position may have been unclear. I apologize and would like to clarify our course of action. During the October 23, 2020 executive session, the IEB voted and determined the best route was to elect a current IEB member into the vacant position to ensure the new IVJ had the necessary experience to fulfill the role. Your IEB also voted and determined if electing a new IVJ from the existing IEB members resulted in any additional vacant named officer positions on the IEB, we would also fill those vacant positions with current IEB members. After filling those vacant positions, the IEB further decided to then notify the membership of any remaining vacancies and accept candidacy materials from those interested. Based upon the actions taken on October 23, 2020, your IEB met again in executive session on October 28, 2020 to conduct the election of the new IVJ. Please join us in congratulating your new International Vice Justice, Sister Nicole M. Grida, and your new International Marshal, Sister Nicole Winget. We look forward to the great things Sister Grida and Sister Winget will do in their new roles. Your IEB is now seeking candidacy statements and resumes for the vacant Member-At-Large, Position D. Any member in good standing seeking to fill this vacancy must submit a written statement of intent and supporting materials, no more than three (3) pages, to our Executive Director, Andrew Sagan, at andrew@pad.org by Friday, November 6, 2020 at 5:00 PM (EDT). Once the deadline for submissions for the vacant Member-At-Large, Position D has passed, your IEB will provide additional information regarding the process to those who expressed interest in the vacant position. Thank you all for your dedication to Phi Alpha Delta and we look forward to welcoming a new Member-At-Large. Please contact us at PADIEB@pad.org if you have any questions. Fraternally, John F. Miquel International Justice
