P.A.D. Speaker Series: Alaska Native Corporations and the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act
Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at 4:00 PM Eastern (1:00 PM Pacific)

Ever been curious how indigenous Americans are treated under the law in Alaska? Subject-matter expert Chris Slottee will present: ALASKA NATIVE CORPORATIONS AND THE ALASKA NATIVE CLAIMS SETTLEMENT ACT (ANCSA).

Learn about treaty rights in Alaska (including the treaty with Russia), Alaska Native Village and Regional Corporations, how tribes work on a distant subcontinent when there are no reservations (well, one — but it's an island), how the pipeline got built, inalienable shares, current developments, and more. This 1 hour seminar has been submitted for CLE credit, pending approval, to the Alaska Bar Association (http://www.alaskabar.org).

CLE Credit: Attendance verification will be provided for any member who wishes to apply for CLE credit for this session. P.A.D. members may contact Emily Baranoski at emily@pad.org for CLE materials.

Please join us for this special presentation as we celebrate and recognize Native American Heritage Month as a fraternity. Chris's presentation will take place via zoom on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at Noon Alaska Time (4:00 pm Eastern Time). We look forward to seeing you "there."

This is a free presentation for P.A.D. members. Please click the 'Register' button above to RSVP for this session.
