| Heather Buck, Esq., graduated cum laude and in the top 10% of her class at Wayne State University Law School. She received numerous scholarships and awards at Wayne State, including the Patrick J. Burkett Award, which is given to the top first-year law student in the Legal Research and Writing Course. She also served on the Wayne Law Review's Executive Board as the Production Editor. Heather has passed the Michigan Bar Exam and the California Bar Exam. After law school, Heather spent about three years clerking for various judges at the Third Judicial Circuit of Michigan. She also has experience in no-fault litigation and contract and employment law. Heather has been at JD Advising since 2018. She teaches JD Advising’s Michigan Bar Exam, Uniform Bar Exam, and California Bar Exam courses. She also tutors private students for the bar exam, in all first-year law school classes, and for the MPRE. |  | Rachel Margiewicz, Esq. is the Director of Prelaw Services for JD Advising and a law school admissions expert. She is a licensed attorney with experience across three graduate admissions programs, including J.D. and LL.M. admissions, in different markets of the country. She has spent countless hours reviewing applications, interviewing candidates, and making recommendations on candidate admission. Rachel works effectively one-on-one with students to better understand their background, interests, abilities, and aspirations before developing a tailored action plan to reach their goals Rachel is a skilled writer and public speaker. She regularly publishes articles on our JD Advising blog and in the National Jurist, advising students on all aspects of the admissions process. Rachel frequently travels to universities to speak with undergraduate classes, pre-law groups and academic programs about strategically preparing and applying to law school. Rachel received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, graduating with Distinction. She completed her Juris Doctorate at Wayne State University Law School, where she received a merit-based, full-tuition scholarship. While there, she served as associate editor for The Wayne Law Review,on executive boards for various student organizations, and as oralist and chancellor of the International Law Moot Court team. She was also named a Freeman Fellow and International Public Interest Law Fellow allowing her to study and work abroad in law school. Rachel received individual recognition and team-based awards for research and writing, oral argument skills, and academic achievements.
