BiographyJohn Karasek was initiated into Phi Alpha Delta’s Robert E. Redding Alumni Chapter based in the Washington, D.C. area on June 17, 1997. He has served as that chapter’s Justice, Vice Justice, Clerk, and Marshal. He served Phi Alpha Delta on the International Tribunal as an Associate Tribune from 2012-2014. He has since served on the Phi Alpha Delta International Executive Board as an At-Large Member and, as of 2020, is the P.A.D. International Treasurer. Prior to his arrival at ONR, he was an intellectual property attorney for the Naval Research Laboratory from 1991 to 2009. His last position at NRL was Associate Counsel, Intellectual Property, supervising a staff of ten intellectual property attorneys and five support staff. In that capacity, he supervised the preparation and prosecution of patent and trademark applications in the US and other jurisdictions around the world and was the principal legal advisor to the NRL leadership on all intellectual property matters. He managed the NRL intellectual property portfolio and provided legal advice to the NRL technology transfer office on all licensing and cooperative research matters. Click to view profile page.
