Have you wondered what it takes to be a lobbyist? Join us on Tuesday, November 17 for the P.A.D. Professional Webinar series when Sister Daphnee Sainvil and Brother Steve Fenske will discuss tips on becoming a lobbyist, challenges faced when lobbying and some of their greatest successes.
Daphnee Anne Sainvil is currently the Government and External Affairs Manager for the City of Fort Lauderdale. In her role, she oversees the City’s entire legislative portfolio; will promote and revitalize economic development; and foster a working relationship between the city and county for the benefit of all residents, businesses and visitors. Formerly, she was one of two Legislative Policy Advisors within the Intergovernmental Affairs Boards Section of Broward County, tasked with promoting and advocating County priorities, appropriations requests, and legislative proposals as contained in the State and Federal Legislative Program.
Steve Fenske serves as General Counsel for the Minnesota Association of Townships, a non-profit organization of about 9000 local government officials. He provides legal information, educational training, published works, litigation management services, and legislative advocacy. His lobbying work is focused on the Minnesota legislature, where every session is a 'special session'. Steve joined P.A.D. in 2008 at the University of Minnesota's Mitchell Chapter and he has remained active in P.A.D. since then.
