P.A.D. Anti-Racism Vision StatementPhi Alpha Delta is an actively anti-racist organization. Anti-racism aims to uplift the innate humanity and individuality of historically marginalized groups. Anti-racism requires active resistance to, and dismantling of, the system of racism to obtain racial equity. This Anti-Racism Vision Statement is intended to identify, combat, and prevent racism and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in our Fraternity. This statement indicates why anti-racism is important to the Fraternity as members of the legal community. The Fraternity is an anti-racist organization that respects all persons and ensures the dignity of all members. The Fraternity stands against hate towards any marginalized groups. Phi Alpha Delta is committed to championing anti-racism through professional development, education, and racial justice advocacy. The Fraternity will continue to hold conversations with our staff, leaders, members, and the Phi Alpha Delta International Foundation about action and advocacy for being an anti-racist organization. The Fraternity is committed to making sure everyone has a voice and is heard; speaking up and addressing racism in all situations; fostering a safe and inclusive environment for members of all races; and ensuring that fraternity leaders and members at all levels are emboldened and equipped to confront situations where racism must be addressed. Phi Alpha Delta demonstrates best practices in diversity, equity, and inclusion by taking conscious and deliberate actions to ensure equal opportunities for all of its members. The Fraternity allocates financial resources to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion. The Fraternity confronts and works to change policies, practices, and procedures that create inequities amongst racial groups, understanding these systems of oppression are based in and uphold white supremacy; and acknowledging the existence of racism in the profession and learning from and correcting our mistakes. |
