Just a reminder to join Phi Alpha Delta Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at 4:00 pm Eastern Time/1:00 pm Pacific Time for the next installment of the P.A.D. Speaker Series, "Alaska Native Corporations and the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act.”

Ever been curious how indigenous Americans are treated under the law in Alaska? Subject-matter expert Chris Slottee will present: ALASKA NATIVE CORPORATIONS AND THE ALASKA NATIVE CLAIMS SETTLEMENT ACT (ANCSA).

Learn about treaty rights in Alaska (including the treaty with Russia), Alaska Native Village and Regional Corporations, how tribes work on a distant subcontinent when there are no reservations (well, one — but it's an island), how the pipeline got built, inalienable shares, current developments, and more.

This 1 hour seminar has been submitted for CLE credit, pending approval, to the Alaska Bar Association (http://www.alaskabar.org). Session materials and proof of attendance will be provided; if you have any questions, please email Emily Baranoski at emily@pad.org.

Please join us for this special presentation as we celebrate and recognize Native American Heritage Month as a fraternity. Chris's presentation will take place via zoom on Wednesday, November 15 at Noon Alaska Time (4:00 pm Eastern). We look forward to seeing you "there."

This is a free presentation for P.A.D. members. Please register to reserve your spot.
