Matt was initiated into the Monroe Chapter at Hamline University School of Law in the Fall of 2011. During his first year he acted as the 1L Representative and also competed in the PAD mock trial competition in Washington DC.
Nearing the end of his first year, Matt ran for Monroe Chapter Justice and was elected into office. He shortly after attended his first National PAD Convention in Scottsdale, AZ, and took part in the Nominations Committee. During his first year as Justice, the Monroe Chapter more than tripled in size and was recognized on a national level. That same year, Matt was awarded the Alex Hotchkiss Outstanding Justice Award.
Matt is currently on his third year of law school and second year as Monroe Justice. He has high hopes for the future of the chapter as the time to pass the reigns. He also is on his second year acting as head coach of the Monroe mock trial teams, getting ready to compete again in Washington DC. Matt also sits on the Alumni Advisory Council (AAC).
Outside of PAD, Matt is currently a Law Clerk in Anoka, MN for the 10th Judicial District Public Defender's Office. He is also a new father, his daughter Charlotte ("Charlie") being born last September.
