    On March 10, 2017 our dear brother Allan Jay Atlas passed away. He was an active member in Southern Florida as well as a member of Rasco Chapter. As a tribute to Allan, the Allan Jay Atlas Fund was established. The funds donations raised from this fund will help send a student member from Rasco Chapter attend convention.     Registration is open for the 51st Annual P.A.D. Day at the U.S. Supreme Court June 5, 2017! This event surrounds the admission of P.A.D. alumni to the SCOTUS Bar.

    After last year's historical turnout of 67 admittees, we expect spaces to fill up quickly this year. There is a group cap of 50, so return your complete application as soon as possible.

    Dear Brothers and Sisters, it is with heavy heart that I have to announce that our Brother Rick Pearson passed away this morning. Rick will be sorely missed. His passion and dedication for Phi Alpha Delta was epic. To honor his memory, the Rick Pearson Memorial Scholarship has been established. To learn more about the scholarship and donate to the P.A.D.     With the improvements to www.pad.org (including the online store, your membership profile, and our invoice system) we’re excited to now offer increased security to P.A.D.’s membership database.

    The official database and membership records are now kept and maintained solely at the Executive Office.

    If you just need to check a member’s status or pull a list of chapter members, you can still do so through the P.A.D. Directory. If you need assistance with this, contact the Executive Office.

    P.A.D. offers FREE recruitment boxes to all pre-law, law, and alumni chapters for tabling and recruitment efforts.

  • Updated Version of Law Chapter Model By-Laws Now Available

    The International Executive Board has approved a new version of the Law Chapter Model By-Laws. These By-Laws are updated under the authority of P.A.D.'s new governing document, the Fraternity Policy Manual.

    Law Chapters without officially filed by-laws are automatically governed by the Model By-Laws. The Model By-Laws can be downloaded from the Law Chapter Downloads section of the P.A.D. website.

  • Georgetown Law School, Pre-Law Tour Oct. 28

    Are you getting excited for the 2016 P.A.D. Pre-Law Conference and Law School Expo next week?

    We are happy to invite you to a tour of Georgetown Law on Friday October 28th after our final speaker for the day. To attend, you must RSVP to the link below and bring your ID to Georgetown.

    The tour will be led by P.A.D. Pre-Law Alumni (former Vice President of University of Florida Pre-Law Chapter) and now 1L student at Georgetown student Kate Rheaume. Remember, you must bring your ID and RSVP to attend. Kate will meet everyone in the hotel lobby at 3:30 on Friday October 28th. You will all ride the metro together (15-30 minute ride), attend the tour (about an hour), then you are welcome to explore the town. Keep in mind conference programming begins again on Saturday October 29th at 7 a.m.

    HazingPrevention.Org is a national organization dedicated to empowering people to prevent hazing, by providing education and resources, and building partnerships with others. Major initiatives of the organization include National Hazing Prevention Week™, the Novak Institute for Hazing Prevention™, and educational courses that touch the lives of thousands of individuals, organizations, campuses and communities.
    HazingPrevention.Org started in 2007 when founder Tracy Maxwell decided to do something that would turn the conversation about hazing from how to punish those who haze to how to prevent it from happening in the first place.

    Phi Alpha Delta was the first law fraternity to open membership to those of all genders, religions, races, creeds, and national origins. We are proud of our anti-hazing, open membership policy.

  • 2017 Mock Trial Competition for Law Chapters Scheduled for February 2017!

    Mark your calendars! The 2017 P.A.D. National Mock Trial Competition for Law School Chapters has been scheduled for February 23-26, 2017 in Alexandria, VA.

    We have secured rooms at the Westin Crystal City at a discounted rate. The hotel offers a free shuttle to and from Reagan National Airport. More details and a registration link will be available soon.

    The first round of registration will open at 9 A.M. on Monday October 3rd and stay open for one week. Only one team from each school is permitted to register during the first round of registration. Additional teams may be registered in future registration rounds.

    The registration form and other details are currently posted on the Mock Trial Event Page. Chapter Officers - be on the lookout for an email about registration details early next week!

  • AFLAC: New P.A.D. Member Benefit!

    Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity has joined with Aflac to develop a program that gives P.A.D. members the opportunity to apply for accident insurance at premium rates not available to the general public.

    If you become injured, your medical insurance pays doctors and hospitals, but often includes out-of-pocket expenses such as copays and deductibles. However, Aflac insurance pays cash benefits directly to you (unless otherwise assigned) to help with expenses not covered by your medical insurance.

  • Constitution & By-Laws Committee Conference Call

    JULY 6, 2016: Tonight at 6 p.m. Eastern, the Constitution & By-Laws Committee will have its first of two conference calls. All members in good standing are invited to participate even if you are not placed on the committee. If you cannot make the call, we will be recording the discussions and post it on the Convention community portion of our website.

These scholarships are used to pay for student registration expenses for the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, International Biennial Convention.

  • Entrepreneurship in Law: Evolve or Perish with David Holt

    There are over 1,000,000 attorneys in the United States, of which about half are entrepreneurs. According to the National Association of Law Placement, the percentage of law graduates going into solo practice continues to increase year after year. Attorney and Entrepreneur David Holt will share his experience both as a successful solo-practice attorney finding new ways to deliver legal services as well as co-founder of a national healthcare patient advocacy startup. Hear David's journey as he went from trying to notarize a cancer patient's will in a subway the morning of her tumor-removal surgery to working with that same cancer patient's son on launching an healthcare tech business focused on patient advocacy in the United States. Also hear on David's review of the current legal market and opportunities for lawyers to position themselves for success.

    David Holt is a Minnesota solo attorney focusing on Healthcare & Business law. David is also co-founder and general counsel for miVoyce, a business that provides an online training solution for individuals to learn how to read medical bills, spot errors and negotiate payments.

    David is an active board member of the Minnesota Statewide Alumni Chapter. David graduated in 2013 from William Mitchell College of Law. This is David's third convention, and second as an alumni.
