  • Puerto Rico - Chapter Support Fund

    Hurricane Maria caused severe damage in Puerto Rico. Our chapters have been adversely affected. Because of this devastation, the the Knoxville Alumni Chapter has launched a “Ricanstruction” Auction and fund drive.  You can find information about the auction on Ed Anderson’s Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/ed.anderson). You can bid on various items and the funds raised will benefit our chapters in Puerto Rico.

    If you would like to make a cash donation, you can do that right here. All donations will go to support law school chapter operations at the deDiego Chapter (Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico School of Law), Munoz Chapter (Inter-American University School of Law) and Ramos Chapter (University of Puerto Rico School of Law).

    In light of the recent hurricanes and the delays caused by these storms, the International Executive Board has decided to extend the application deadline for the David Benamy Grant. The new application deadline is now Sunday, October 15

  • Applications Now Being Accepted for the David Benamy Young Alumni Grant

    The Executive Office is now accepting applications for the David Benamy Young Alumni Convention Grant! 

    These $500 grants helps fund the attendance of multiple recent P.A.D. alumni to the 2018 P.A.D. Biennial Convention in Lexington, KY. Phi Alpha Delta 2014-2018 law chapter graduates are eligible to apply. 

    The David Benamy Grant was established to help young P.A.D. alumni fund their attendance to Convention. Young alumni are defined as those who have graduated within 4 years or less from the start of Convention in August 2018. This means those who have graduated from 2014 to spring 2018 are eligible to apply. These grants will be awarded to applicants who best exemplify fulfillment of the Fraternity’s motto – Service to the Student, the Law School, the Community and the Profession – in support of the Fraternity’s investment in our members and future leadership.

    $300 of the grant will be applied toward the convention registration fee, and $200 will be available for your lodging or transportation to Convention. The Benamy Grant is awarded from the P.A.D. International Foundation, and the Foundation Trustees will determine the awardees based upon submitted applications.

    One of the selected grant winners will win a “First Cal Super Grant” which includes the hotel AND transportation costs. There is no additional application for the “First Cal Super Grant.”

  • Amendment to the Fraternity Policy Manual - International Tribunal

    Our current International Tribunal has submitted an amendment to the Fraternity Policy Manual (FPM). Due to the elected nature of service on the International Tribunal, any proposed change to Article 5 of the Fraternity Policy Manual is subject to a comment period of 45 days. This will allow members to review and comment on a proposed change affecting the International Tribunal prior to International Executive Board action.   • Congratulations 2017 Law and Alumni Chapter Award Winners!

    The final votes are in, and the Executive Office is pleased to announce the winners of the Law School Chapter and Alumni Chapter Awards for 2017!

    Congratulations to all who placed and thank you to all who submitted - keep up the great work!

    Chapter award applications are accepted on a rolling basis. All applications must be submitted via email to Director of Law & Alumni Operations, Emily Baranoski at emily@pad.org by the first Monday in June each year. Applications are reviewed and processed by the International Executive Office and International Executive Board and are announced annually each summer.

    The 2018 Law & Alumni Chapter Awards will be presented at the 2018 P.A.D. Biennial Convention in Lexington, KY. 

    Congratulations again! We look forward to seeing the award winning leadership and chapter programming over the next year.

  • Leadership Summit This Weekend

    The Leadership Summit will be hosted in Arlington, VA, right outside of D.C., this Friday-Saturday, July 14-15.

    Though registration is almost full, all members are welcome to attend and pay $35 at the door. If you plan to attend, please register in advance so we can ensure your spot.

    Along with presentations and leadership workshops, P.A.D.'s International Executive Board will be conducting their summer Board meeting throughout the weekend.

    On March 10, 2017 our dear brother Allan Jay Atlas passed away. He was an active member in Southern Florida as well as a member of Rasco Chapter. As a tribute to Allan, the Allan Jay Atlas Fund was established. The funds donations raised from this fund will help send a student member from Rasco Chapter attend convention.     We’re excited to announce that registration is open for Phi Alpha Delta’s 62nd Biennial Convention & Leadership Conference! We look forward to seeing upwards of 400 P.A.D. brothers & sisters in Lexington, Kentucky in August, 2018.

    Not familiar with P.A.D.’s Convention? This event is held every two years to bring together P.A.D. law student and alumni members from around the world. Delegates elect International Officers and set the Fraternity’s course for the future.

    In addition to the business of Convention, we offer CLE credits, workshops, panels and guest speakers on a variety of topics are offered. Convention presents invaluable fraternal networking and professional growth opportunities for both students and alumni.

  • P.A.D. Day at the U.S. Supreme Court, Registration Open

    Registration is open for the 51st Annual P.A.D. Day at the U.S. Supreme Court June 5, 2017! This event surrounds the admission of P.A.D. alumni to the SCOTUS Bar.

    After last year's historical turnout of 67 admittees, we expect spaces to fill up quickly this year. There is a group cap of 50, so return your complete application as soon as possible.

  • Brother Fredric H. Pearson Passes Away

    Dear Brothers and Sisters, it is with heavy heart that I have to announce that our Brother Rick Pearson passed away this morning. Rick will be sorely missed. His passion and dedication for Phi Alpha Delta was epic. To honor his memory, the Rick Pearson Memorial Scholarship has been established. To learn more about the scholarship and donate to the P.A.D.     With the improvements to www.pad.org (including the online store, your membership profile, and our invoice system) we’re excited to now offer increased security to P.A.D.’s membership database.

    The official database and membership records are now kept and maintained solely at the Executive Office.

    If you just need to check a member’s status or pull a list of chapter members, you can still do so through the P.A.D. Directory. If you need assistance with this, contact the Executive Office.

  • Recruitment Boxes Shipping January 2017

    P.A.D. offers FREE recruitment boxes to all pre-law, law, and alumni chapters for tabling and recruitment efforts.

    Recruitment boxes include brochures, copies of P.A.D.'s magazines The Reporter & The Docket, important reminders for officers, and information and offers from member benefits and P.A.D. partners.

    We're shipping these boxes for spring recruitment throughout January, so make sure your chapter receives these materials!

  • New Member Services are Online!

    We're pleased to announce the launch of our new member services website! If you are a member of P.A.D., you already have a log in account! Please do not re-register!

    All members were emailed their username and instructions to reset their password yesterday. If you have not received this information, please contact us at info@pad.org and we can resend those instructions.

    P.A.D.'s online member services will be unavailable until 12/19/16 as we upgrade to a new and more secure platform. We apologize for the inconvenience.

    Here's what you can look forward to:
    • An easier to use, enhanced profile;
    • An improved, updated online store;
    • Access to your payment and invoice history;
    • Increased site security. All pages are https to protect your personal information.

    With the new system, your login name will stay the same, but your password will change. We will send out an email on December 19th with instructions for resetting your password.

  • Updated Version of Law Chapter Model By-Laws Now Available

    The International Executive Board has approved a new version of the Law Chapter Model By-Laws. These By-Laws are updated under the authority of P.A.D.'s new governing document, the Fraternity Policy Manual.

    Law Chapters without officially filed by-laws are automatically governed by the Model By-Laws. The Model By-Laws can be downloaded from the Law Chapter Downloads section of the P.A.D. website.
