  • Deadline to Book P.A.D. Convention Hotel is Monday, July 16

    To all our members attending the upcoming Biennial Convention and Leadership Conference - don't forget the deadline to book a hotel room at the Hyatt Lexington is next Monday, July 16th. The room block will close after that date and we will not be able to guarantee room availability.

  • Fourth of July- Executive Office Closed

    The Executive Office will be closed Wednesday, July 4 in observance of the holiday. We will reopen at 9am EST on Thursday July 5.

  • Submitting Candidacy Statements

    If you are running for a position on the International Executive Board or International Tribunal at our upcoming Convention, you may submit a one page candidacy statement that will be posted on the Convention website. Candidates are responsible for bringing copies of any handouts to the Convention for Nominations Committee review. Send your statements for posting to andrew@pad.org. All statements will be posted on a rolling basis.

    Phi Alpha Delta and Barbri Law Preview are offering a $10,000 general law school scholarship to a deserving pre-law student. Make sure to submit your application by April 15- THIS SUNDAY.

    The One Lawyer Can Change the World Scholarship offers one hard-working law student a $10,000 scholarship to help offset the cost of 1L tuition.

    Since 1967, P.A.D. has offered members the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be admitted to the Supreme Court Bar. The 51st Annual P.A.D. Day will be held on June 3-4, 2018.

    We make the admission process smooth, affordable and memorable for P.A.D. alumni. To be eligible you must be in at least 3 years good standing with your state bar. If you need help obtaining sponsor signatures, please contact us. We are happy to provide sponsorship to P.A.D. Day participants. The process is simple and the event is one of the most significant in an attorney’s legal career.

  • Reminder - Student and Military Convention Grant Applications due this Thursday!

    Don't forget - applications for the Student and Military Convention Grants are due this Thursday, November 30!

    These $500 grants helps fund the attendance of multiple P.A.D. students and members/spouses of the military to the 2018 P.A.D. Biennial Convention in Lexington, KY. 

    Grant opportunities include the AJ Villmer Student Grant (for student delegates to Convention), the Brigadier J. Derek Hill Grant (for current or former military), the Rhonda Hill Military Spouse Grant (for spouses of current or former military), and more!

    It's been an amazing inaugural campaign that surpassed all expectations.  140 donors stepped up and donated a total of $7,252.44 to the P.A.D. International Foundation in support of Phi Alpha Delta.  Amazing!

    For the first time ever, we filled all slots for the Law School Mock Trial Competition during Round Two of registration. We are so excited by the response to this year’s competition, and we look forward to seeing our competitors in February. We are offering a wait pool for any teams who wish to be contacted if another team slot becomes available.

    In the event that a registered team drops out of the competition, we will contact the teams in the wait pool.  The first chapter to register their team will get the open slot.

  • Puerto Rico - Chapter Support Fund

    Hurricane Maria caused severe damage in Puerto Rico. Our chapters have been adversely affected. Because of this devastation, the the Knoxville Alumni Chapter has launched a “Ricanstruction” Auction and fund drive.  You can find information about the auction on Ed Anderson’s Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/ed.anderson). You can bid on various items and the funds raised will benefit our chapters in Puerto Rico.

    If you would like to make a cash donation, you can do that right here. All donations will go to support law school chapter operations at the deDiego Chapter (Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico School of Law), Munoz Chapter (Inter-American University School of Law) and Ramos Chapter (University of Puerto Rico School of Law).

    In light of the recent hurricanes and the delays caused by these storms, the International Executive Board has decided to extend the application deadline for the David Benamy Grant. The new application deadline is now Sunday, October 15

    The Executive Office is now accepting applications for the David Benamy Young Alumni Convention Grant! 

    These $500 grants helps fund the attendance of multiple recent P.A.D. alumni to the 2018 P.A.D. Biennial Convention in Lexington, KY. Phi Alpha Delta 2014-2018 law chapter graduates are eligible to apply. 

    The David Benamy Grant was established to help young P.A.D. alumni fund their attendance to Convention. Young alumni are defined as those who have graduated within 4 years or less from the start of Convention in August 2018. This means those who have graduated from 2014 to spring 2018 are eligible to apply. These grants will be awarded to applicants who best exemplify fulfillment of the Fraternity’s motto – Service to the Student, the Law School, the Community and the Profession – in support of the Fraternity’s investment in our members and future leadership.

    $300 of the grant will be applied toward the convention registration fee, and $200 will be available for your lodging or transportation to Convention. The Benamy Grant is awarded from the P.A.D. International Foundation, and the Foundation Trustees will determine the awardees based upon submitted applications.

    One of the selected grant winners will win a “First Cal Super Grant” which includes the hotel AND transportation costs. There is no additional application for the “First Cal Super Grant.”

  • Amendment to the Fraternity Policy Manual - International Tribunal

    Our current International Tribunal has submitted an amendment to the Fraternity Policy Manual (FPM). Due to the elected nature of service on the International Tribunal, any proposed change to Article 5 of the Fraternity Policy Manual is subject to a comment period of 45 days. This will allow members to review and comment on a proposed change affecting the International Tribunal prior to International Executive Board action.   • Congratulations 2017 Law and Alumni Chapter Award Winners!

    The final votes are in, and the Executive Office is pleased to announce the winners of the Law School Chapter and Alumni Chapter Awards for 2017!

    Congratulations to all who placed and thank you to all who submitted - keep up the great work!

    Chapter award applications are accepted on a rolling basis. All applications must be submitted via email to Director of Law & Alumni Operations, Emily Baranoski at emily@pad.org by the first Monday in June each year. Applications are reviewed and processed by the International Executive Office and International Executive Board and are announced annually each summer.

    The 2018 Law & Alumni Chapter Awards will be presented at the 2018 P.A.D. Biennial Convention in Lexington, KY.
