Rhonda Hill
Rhonda Hill is a native of Des Moines, Iowa. She graduated from Drake University in 1979 with a double major in sociology and speech communications. In 1981, she graduated from Drake University Law School. Rhonda’s involvement in P.A.D. began as a law student in 1980 when she joined P.A.D.’s Chester C. Cole Chapter where she served as its Justice (1980-1981) and its delegate to the 43rd Biennial Convention in 1980.
Rhonda’s P.A.D. experience includes service as District Justice for Districts V and IV. She has been a member of two different Alumni Chapters and was District XXVII’s alumni delegate-at-large for two Conventions. The 2012 Convention will be Rhonda’s 16th Convention. In 2002, upon unanimous vote of the International Executive Board, she was recognized for meritorious service to the Fraternity and the furtherance of the legal profession, at that time only one of two people to have received this recognition. In 2003, she was the International Executive Board’s facilitator for its creation of P.A.D.’s long-range strategic plan. She has participated in, organized or chaired numerous District Justice training sessions.
In 2006, she was elected to the International Executive Board as an At-Large Member where she served as chair of the Board’s Strategic Plan Committee and Pre-Law Infrastructure Committee, Assistant Advocate and was a member of the District Justice System Committee. In 2008, Rhonda was elected International Justice and was again honored to be elected International Justice in 2010. She is the only woman to have served two terms as International Justice and is the only person since the 1950’s to serve concurrent terms as International Justice.
At the 2008 Convention, she was the 20th member inducted into the Distinguished Service Chapter, P.A.D.’s highest honor recognizing unusual and outstanding service to the Fraternity.
Rhonda is a member of the Iowa, Arkansas and Colorado bars, all by examination. She practiced law for thirteen years emphasizing corporate, contract and environmental law. She is now President of a group of businesses involved in real estate development, mining, agriculture and investment management. It was at the 1980 P.A.D. Convention that Rhonda met her husband Derek who has also served as International Justice (2004-2006).
