John F. Miquel

John F. Miquel joined the Mentschikoff Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, International in 1999 at St. Thomas University School of Law.  Since his initiation, John has attended each succeeding biennial convention and served in multiple leadership positions within the Fraternity. He has been a Chapter officer, Assistant District Justice, District Justice, chaired multiple committees, and was recently elected to serve as International Marshal to the International Executive Board at the 59th Biennial Convention in Scottsdale, AZ.

John works as a Director for Themis Bar Review, recently relocating to Denver, CO.  A former trial attorney in Miami, John split his professional practice between being Assistant Public Defender for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida and being in private civil practice in insurance defense with a focus on toxic tort litigation.  Brother Miquel is a member of the Florida bar, and is pending admission to the Colorado bar.

In addition to his work with P.A.D., John was a former Executive Board Member of the Young Professionals of the Red Cross, and has been an ardent supporter of The American Red Cross of Broward, Greater Miami & the Keys since 2002.  He’s also a member of The Sommelier Guild, Inc. (Fort Lauderdale chapter) since 2010 and was appointed legal advisor in 2011. 

A dual citizen of the United States and France, John was born in Lourdes and is fluent in French. Most importantly, John is married to Lesley Yosses, whom he met through P.A.D. nearly 10 years ago!
