Daniel McDowell

Dan McDowell is an attorney, Certified Public Accountant, Certified Valuation Analyst, and mediator. Currently employed by a Fortune 500 corporation in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he negotiates terms and conditions for contracts for the sale of advanced instrumentation, control and automation technologies for the power generation and water/wastewater treatment industries. He has also served as Vice President and Relationship Manager for PNC Wealth Management (formerly the Private Client Group at National City Bank). Before joining the bank, Mr. McDowell was employed as a Tax Consultant for Ernst and Young, LLP, and worked as an attorney in private practice.

Mr. McDowell is a member of the Finance Committee, and the Investment Subcommittee, of the Allegheny County Bar Association in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, Mr. McDowell was Justice of the Watson Chapter of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity during his second and third years of law school, and is a founding member of the Pittsburgh Tax Review. His undergraduate degree is from Duquesne University, where he graduated with a double major in accounting and finance.

Mr. McDowell coauthored and copresented a “Mediation Training Program” for the Monroe County Bar Association (Pennsylvania), in 2010. The Program fulfilled training requirements for individual Mediator certification in the County as well as in U. S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. Mr. McDowell also serves as a mediation coach to students enrolled in the West Virginia College of Law Magistrate Mediation Program.

Mr. McDowell recently served as District Justice for District XXXIII, and as a member of the Fraternity’s Audit Committee. In 2011, he was selected “Outstanding District Justice.” In addition, his District was named “Most Improved District,” and was the 2nd place award winner for “Outstanding District” in 2011.
