Brother Maley is Vice President and Managing Attorney at Codilis & Associates, P.C. in Burr Ridge, Illinois, concentrating in secured creditors’ rights in bankruptcy, mortgage foreclosure, and related matters.
He manages the firm’s bankruptcy department and serves on the firm’s Management Committee. He is a member of the Bankruptcy Association of Southern Illinois, the Chicago Bar Association (Bankruptcy Committee Vice Chair), the DuPage County Bar Association (Bankruptcy Committee Chair), the Illinois State Bar Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute, and the National Association of Chapter 13 Trustees (associate member). Brother Maley coauthored portions of Illinois Foreclosure Practice, (Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education, 2003) and has also authored professional articles in the DCBA Brief: The Journal of the DuPage County Bar Association, REO Magazine and the Loyola Consumer Law Journal and speaks regularly on bankruptcy, mortgage foreclosure, and related topics. He has spoken for such groups as the Chicago Bar Association, the DuPage County Bar Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute, and the National Association of Chapter Thirteen Trustees, the Bankruptcy Association of Southern Illinois, Lorman Education Services, REOMAC, and the Illinois Housing Development Authority. He is admitted to practice in the State of Illinois, the U.S. Supreme Court, the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals, and all federal district courts in Illinois, Indiana, and Eastern Wisconsin.
Brother Maley attended Loyola University of Chicago both as an undergraduate and for law school (BA, 1990, JD, 1992). He is a member and past officer of Daniel Webster Chapter, former Justice of the Chicago Alumni Chapter and current Justice of the West Suburban Alumni Chapter. Brother Maley recently served as District X Justice for a second time and Chair of the Alumni Advisory Council.
